Summary
LensIndex does not collect personal data, analytics, telemetry, search queries, file contents, thumbnails, embeddings, OCR text, or account information. Trieflow LLC cannot view the folders or visual files you index.
Local processing
LensIndex performs file discovery, image and PDF decoding, OCR, thumbnail generation, semantic embedding, similarity search, and supported answer generation on your Mac. The bundled visual-search model runs locally. LensIndex does not upload indexed content to Trieflow or a third-party AI service.
Folder access
LensIndex can access only folders you choose through the macOS folder picker. macOS stores a security-scoped bookmark so access can continue across launches. Read access is used for indexing. If you explicitly enable organization features, LensIndex requests write access for the affected selected roots.
Data stored on your Mac
LensIndex stores a local catalog containing file locations, metadata, OCR text, embeddings, thumbnails, saved searches, scan checkpoints, and organization journals. This data remains in the app’s sandbox or App Group container. Removing a source from LensIndex removes its index records; it does not delete your source files.
Purchases
LensIndex Pro is sold through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple processes the transaction and provides LensIndex with a signed entitlement status. Trieflow does not receive your payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Finder and Spotlight
The optional Finder extension accepts supported files only from approved roots and queues them for the main app. Optional Spotlight export includes only the fields shown in LensIndex Settings and can be disabled and cleared.
Retention and deletion
Your local index remains until you remove sources, clear optional exports, uninstall the app, or delete its sandbox data. LensIndex organization never deletes source files. Project folders created during an organization action are retained after undo rather than deleted automatically.
Children and international use
LensIndex is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. Because Trieflow does not collect app data, it does not transfer indexed content between countries.
