Help for LensIndex

Support

Clear answers for a private, local-first Mac app.

01

Where does LensIndex search?

Only inside folders you explicitly choose. LensIndex indexes supported images, PDFs, screenshots, and visual design files; it does not scan your whole Mac.

02

Does my work leave my Mac?

No. Search indexing, OCR, thumbnails, semantic matching, and Ask LensIndex run on-device. LensIndex does not require a cloud account.

03

Why did indexing stop at 500 items?

The free edition indexes up to 500 visual representations. LensIndex Pro removes that cap with a one-time in-app purchase.

04

Can organization actions be undone?

Moves, renames, and Finder-tag changes are previewed and journaled for undo. Cross-volume moves are refused in version 1.0. Project folders created by LensIndex are retained after undo and are never auto-deleted.

05

What does the Finder extension do?

It can queue a supported file from an already approved folder. It does not run the AI model or read files outside your selected roots.

06

How do I rebuild the index?

Open LensIndex Settings, remove the affected folder, then add it again. Removing a folder from LensIndex does not delete the folder or its files.
